Chugach Backcountry Fishing Expeditions:

"Corey Hetrick's love for the sport of fishing is only matched by his local knowledge of the Moose Pass/Cooper Landing area.  His passion and energy are very evident while Corey guides visitors in the backcountry lakes, streams and rivers.  Corey has fished with me and guided for me.  I would recommend his services for backcountry fishing on the Kenai Peninsula."

"I'm a salt water surf fisherman, from the era of heave-and-haul, with lead spoons and no rod. I've done some plug casting on the Chesapeake, but never tried fly-fishing.  Our trip to Alaska, with its clear streams and beautiful lakes, got me interested in the possibilities of the fly rod, so I asked Corey if he'd introduce me to the art. He took me up to Tern Lake, on a warm August afternoon, and walked me through the wrist, arm and body motions needed to put a fly where it was wanted. I was a slow learner, but Corey was patient and eloquent, and I eventually learned enough to keep the fly out of the bushes and to put it onto the spot I was aiming for. I'm still refining the back-swing, concentrating on remembering Corey's instructions, but I've developed enough confidence to begin investigating the streams in the western Maryland hills. I'm thankful to Corey for his skill and his patience at getting me started in this wonderful game."

"Our backcountry fishing trip was one of the best fishing experiences I've ever had: great fishing, shore-side lunch, bear sightings, all surrounded by the mountains.  It's the stuff of which memories are made."

hearts of those who journey with us.
So - be swift to love - make haste to be kind."
